Soft banks provide a beautiful soft illumination, often compared to the window light of old European master printers. It's easy to use your Novatron flash heads in a soft bank from manufacturers such as Chimera, Photoflex, and Westcott. Use the MI-010 with our 2100-C, 2105-C, 2110-C, 2120-C, or 2140-C flash heads. (For enjoying a Soft Bank with our Bare Tubes and Monolights use the MI-016). The flash head's switches are available through the opening in the cast aluminum ring that is both strong and heat resistant. The ring is the connection point for the soft bank's rods. There's room for up to eight rods for rectangular or octagonal banks. The MI-010 has its own bracket that attaches to your stand or boom, while the flash head attaches to a special brass post on the speed ring. The bracket swivels from side to side, while the tilting handle allows the bank to adjust up and down.
