The M500 is fan-cooled Monolythic Power Pack with flash head. The unit has infinitely variable power in two ranges: 500 and 125 watt-seconds. Each range is fully variable over a 2-1/2+ f-stop range for a total range of slightly over 5 f-stops.
The Monolight comes equipped with built-in flash slave trigger, giving the M500 user the option of being employed as a secondary lighting instrument in a multiple light source setup.
A sliding mounting base provides convenient adjustment of the Monolight's axial position. This feature helps balance the Monolight center-of-gravity for heavy light modifier accessories such as barn doors, umbrellas and soft boxes. This can be important when the Monolight is mounted high up on light stands.
The modeling lamp is replaceable and included #2032, 6-1/2" reflector, can be interchanged with a 16" reflector or a soft bank's speed ring.
The Monolight ships standard with a convenient very long 18 foot power cable.
